About
Fair 1703 annually brings together professionals and new audiences in St. Petersburg to engage with contemporary art and foster the traditions of collecting.
The first fair took place in St. Petersburg in 2022, initiated by PJSC Gazprom with the support of the city’s Committee for Culture and the Central Exhibition Hall “Manege.” Since then, the event has become one of the most anticipated for residents and guests of Russia’s cultural capital.
Fair 1703 attracts not only the country’s leading galleries but also emerging art spaces, collectives, and digital platforms. The diversity of participants allows for a broad presentation of forms and current trends in contemporary art across four sections: “Foundation,” “Algorithm,” “Project,” and “Material.” The non-commercial section “Collections” complements the main program by showcasing rarely exhibited works from private, institutional, and corporate collections, revealing different approaches to their formation.
The development of collecting practices is a particularly important focus for Fair 1703. The fair’s lecture program introduces visitors to key trends in contemporary art and the experiences of private and corporate collectors, while the Collectors’ Club brings together both seasoned and new art enthusiasts through a series of special events and partner offers.
